NaNoWriMo stands for national novel writing month. Now, what exactly is NaNoWriMo? Well, NaNoWriMo is to help give writers a reason to write their first draft. It starts on the stroke of midnight on November 1 and ends when November ends. The goal is to write 50,000 words or more over the course of 30 days. Better yet, it is completely free! Yes, NaNoWriMo requires no payment for you to participate. It is completely donor and sponsor run. They also have a young writers program for children from k-12. you might be thinking, “Is there some type of program they have during the summer?” Yes, they do! Camp NaNoWriMo, starts April 1st and ends, well, at the end of April. You set your own goals and it helps you finish them! The next question on your mind might be “Why am I telling you this?” This year I will be participating in NaNoWriMo and will be updating my word count every Friday. If you plan on participating in NaNoWriMo this year feel free to brag about it in the comments. If you want to participate but aren’t sure where to look the links will be at the bottom of this post. I wish you all luck in your writing endeavors!
