The Angel

He grabs at his side as he wobbles down the subway station. Blood spills out of his side and that didn’t go unnoticed. Hands grab out or him as he stumbles through the crowd.

“Leave. Me-” a deep breath. “Alone.” He wheezes out these words only for no one to listen.

His feet step atop each other and he tumbles to the ground. As the ground approaches. Strong hands grip him.

“You need help,” A deep echoing voice states.

He gingerly looks up into the dark mans deep brown eyes and then glances back behind him.

The angel stares at him. Her eyes were golden and burning with anger. As she should be. No creature so pure should have blood dripping from her hands and staining her wings and clothes. She sheathed her sword since their last encounter replacing it with golden bow that was engraved like a beautiful harp. She pulls back her bow and he stares her in the face.

He was aware that he looked insane as he stares with pleading as at the invisible creature.

The angels head fell over her shoulders in a golden array of blood.

He watches as her blood falls onto everyone but all they did was watch him. The world around him crumbling.

“Sweetheart!” His wife’s voice rang out through the chatter. As she comes into voice through the sea of people, sirens ring from the entrance barely audible.

Lucille. Her dark hair was up in a ponytail and her face was covered in golden blood. The blood also stuck out in her hair. She has a sword in a sheath on her waist it’s sheath was full of runes and other such markings.

He pulls himself away from the man and starts stumbling through the crowd.

“Leave-”

“Marc!”

“Leave me alone.” He coughs covering his blood with blood.

She wraps her arms around him.

“Come on. Let’s get you home.”

“I’d rather go with the ambulance.”

“I’m not going to let you do that,” She whispers.

It isn’t that much of a chore for her to lead him through the crowd and out another exit.

The world blurred and blurred until it was no more for him.
